Cricket was played in the area as early as 1919, however the club was not officially formed until 1921 when the local young men returned from service during World War 1. Since 1921 the club has been a real local sporting hub, for both creating lifelong friendships and bringing people together from all walks of life, and thousands of cricket games contested.
This is the Club's chance to once again bring people together and celebrate the Centenary Jubilee achievement of reaching 100 Not Out!
The Weraroa Cricket Club Celebrations will be held over Waitangi Weekend 2021 between Friday 5th February - Monday 8th February. The club is looking to celebrate reaching 100* not out in style – and you are invited to join us during the Clubs Jubilee weekend.
Weraroa Cricket Club is a wonderful club, in which so many of our local community have played a role in many different ways during the past 100 years of the club. We will be celebrating all these achievements and contributions, past and present, over the weekend. There is the opportunity to play in a game, so bring your bat!
We looking forward to seeing you and your family soon.
Thanks
